Air Peace has confirmed an incident of in-flight theft aboard Flight P47190 on February 19, 2025, and has taken decisive steps to strengthen security measures.
In a statement signed by the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Air Peace revealed that a thorough search upon landing at Port Harcourt International Airport (PHC) led to the discovery of a missing item in a passenger’s possession. The suspect was promptly handed over to airport police for further investigation and possible legal action.
Expressing concern over the rising cases of in-flight theft, Air Peace reiterated its commitment to ensuring passenger safety. The airline has pledged to enforce stricter security measures, including increased vigilance by cabin crew and more frequent in-flight announcements reminding passengers to secure their belongings and report any suspicious activity.
As part of its zero-tolerance policy against such misconduct, the airline has recommended blacklisting the suspect to serve as a deterrent.
Air Peace reassured passengers of its dedication to upholding world-class safety standards and urged them to cooperate with security protocols while remaining vigilant during flights. The airline reaffirmed its commitment to providing a safe and seamless travel experience for all.
