Bala Mohammed: Tinubu Administration Lacks Vision, Leading Nigeria to “Road of Perdition”

Mohamed

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has criticized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing it of lacking a clear-cut vision and surrounding itself with “misfits.” The Governor made these remarks on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by Apostle Johnson Suleiman, Founder and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry, at the Government House, Bauchi.

Governor Mohammed expressed disappointment in Tinubu’s leadership, alleging that the administration is leading Nigeria down a “road of perdition and destruction.” He stated that Tinubu assumed office ill-prepared, without a blueprint or manifesto, and has implemented policies that could negatively impact the Nigerian populace.

“I respect President Tinubu so much. But someone must rise to the occasion and tell him the truth that he is surrounded by misfits and came into governance ill-prepared, without an agenda or manifesto,” Mohammed said.

He noted that his criticism stems from a desire to see better governance and inclusivity, rather than personal animosity toward the President. “I don’t have any personal grudge against the President. I respect the institution of leadership and the office of the President. However, governance should not be a fire brigade approach where policies are introduced without proper understanding or alignment with Nigerians’ needs,” he added.

The Governor lamented that the administration’s policies appear to treat Nigerians as “customers” rather than citizens, emphasizing the need for reforms that respect diversity and promote inclusivity.

“We believed in Tinubu because of his pedigree as a former Lagos State Governor, but the current trajectory is far from the expectations we had. Nigerians deserve policies that unite us and foster development, not ones that sow division and hardship,” he said.

Apostle Suleiman: “Nigerians Got What They Deserve”

In his remarks, Apostle Johnson Suleiman echoed the Governor’s sentiments, stating that the hardships Nigerians face under Tinubu’s administration are partly self-inflicted. According to him, the lack of a clear manifesto during the elections should have been a warning sign.

“What Nigerians are going through is partly what they deserve. Before the election, we cried out and warned them. Tinubu came into office without a blueprint. His slogan was simply ‘It’s my turn.’ There is nothing you can hold him accountable for because no promises were made,” Suleiman said.

He further criticized the damage done to critical sectors of the economy, particularly the oil and tax sectors, suggesting that Nigeria may take 10 to 15 years to recover from the setbacks.

When asked for advice for the President, Suleiman responded, “Nothing. All Nigerians can do now is resort to prayers and hope for better leadership in 2027.”

Crusade and Gospel Mission

Apostle Suleiman’s visit to Bauchi was part of a two-day crusade organized by his ministry. He described the visit as a fulfillment of a biblical injunction to spread the gospel of Christ to the world.

Governor Bala Mohammed commended Suleiman for his efforts in uniting people and spreading the message of hope, describing him as a global icon and a unifying figure.

This development adds to the growing criticism of the Tinubu administration, with concerns raised about its preparedness, policy direction, and impact on Nigerians.
