
In a landmark decision, Agba Jalingo has been discharged and acquitted in the highly publicized case between Barr Alami Frank Ayade and Agba Jalingo. The ruling came earlier today at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Agba Jalingo, a renowned journalist and human rights activist, was accused by Alami Ayade, a prominent political figure, of defamation, and Cyber Stalking. The charges stemmed from a series of investigative articles published by Jalingo.

The case had drawn widespread attention, with numerous human rights organizations and media outlets closely monitoring the proceedings.
Jalingo, who has been a vocal critic of governmental policies, expressed his relief and gratitude following the verdict. “This is not just a victory for me but for all journalists and activists who strive to hold power accountable,” he said in a statement outside the courthouse.
Supporters of Jalingo, which includes his attorney, First Baba Isa, Ogar Solomon Ogar, CEO Solomon Islands Communications, Comrade Mike Emaluji, and Odey Otunu who had gathered in large numbers, celebrated the decision, viewing it as a triumph for democracy and the protection of civil liberties.
