Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Keyamo, says he has got confirmation from Emirates that it will restart Nigerian services soon.
Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, indicated that Emirates Airlines will resume flights to Nigeria on a certain date.
Keyamo disclosed this in a social media post on X (previously known as Twitter) on Wednesday, following his meeting with Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Abuja.
In October 2022, the UAE issued a blanket visa ban on Nigerians, and Emirates Airlines ceased flights to Nigeria in November of the same year.
In September 2023, the presidency declared an immediate restart of flights following President Bola Tinubu’s meeting with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. However, this assertion proved incorrect.
