Former PDP Chairman Secondus has asked FCT Minister Wike to account for NNPC cash spent while serving as Rivers governor.
Uche Secondus, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, has accused FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of being the architect behind the current political climate in Rivers State.
Secondus also demanded that Wike answer for the purported revenues he received from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for the Ogoni oil wells while serving as governor of Rivers State.
Secondus’ spokesperson, Ike Abonyi, claimed in a statement that the former PDP national chairman made the charges amid Wike’s antics and ongoing rivalry with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Secondus accused the FCT minister of demarketing the state since Governor Fubara had closed any loopholes that would have allowed him to access state income.
Secondus further stated that Wike had directed his aides and political cronies to continually smear and sabotage the state’s peace, progress, and prosperity by relentlessly assaulting Governor Fubara and other state officials in the media.
He added that Wike’s media attacks on Rivers’ political leaders were “unwarranted and diversionary.” “He once stated that he is capable of producing a catastrophe, and he is not far off the mark, since he is causing an insurmountable situation in Rivers State.
Mrs. Patience Jonathan and I worked together to help him become governor. Have you ever breathed down his neck? Instead, we receive disdain and insults.
Secondus urged President Bola Tinubu to advise Wike not to overheat the political atmosphere in Rivers State and to give the governor the freedom and liberty to work in the best interests of the state’s electorate, which elected him.
