Yahaya Bello:Kogi youths protest EFCC’s move to arrest Yahaya Bello

On Tuesday, a group of young people in Kogi State demonstrated against the Economic and Financial Crime Commission’s (EFCC) intentions to detain former governor Yahaya Bello for allegedly stealing N80.2 billion.

Kluemedia gathered that the major Lokoja-Abuja road was blocked by the youngsters, who had assembled in large numbers, causing traffic jams on the highway. Under the banners of the Africa Youths Coalition for Justice and the Coalition of Civil Society for Democracy, they demonstrated, accusing the anti-graft organisation of witch-hunting and victimising the former governor.

They were seen waving banners that read, among other things, “EFCC stop witch hunting,” “President Tinubu, call the EFCC to order,” “Yahaya Bello remains a responsible citizen,” “EFCC obey court order now,” and many other phrases. Throughout Bello’s trial, the organisations demanded prudence and deference to the law.
