Hon. Godwin Offiono Commiserates with Yala Traditional Rulers over Demise of Late Paramount Ruler, Donates Cow and Cash

Yala, Cross River State – The Member representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Godwin Offiono, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Yala Traditional Rulers Council following the passing of the Paramount Ruler of Yala, His Royal Majesty Ogamode Onah Ipuole.

In a show of solidarity and support, Hon. Offiono sent a condolence delegation comprising Hon. Sylvanus Akra, Legend Alfred Iyaji, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) O’oh Ward Chairman, Mr. Edwin Odibu, to convey his sympathy to the grieving royal fathers.

As part of his condolence message, the federal lawmaker described the late Monarch as a symbol of wisdom, authority, and peace, a courageous leader who guided his people for over four decades with relentless dedication.

Hon. Offiono lauded the Yala Traditional Institution for its resilience and commitment to peace, particularly in managing communal disputes that, despite flaring into armed confrontations at times, remained largely contained due to the stabilizing influence of the royal council.

He encouraged the Monarchs to remain steadfast in upholding the values of the institution, assuring them of his continued partnership to foster peace, development, and improved welfare for both the traditional leaders and the people of Yala.

In further demonstration of his support, Hon. Offiono made a donation of a cow and an undisclosed sum of money to the Traditional Council, emphasizing his respect for the revered role the institution plays in community cohesion and development.

The death of Ogamode Onah Ipuole marks the end of an era for Yala Kingdom, as the revered Monarch leaves behind a legacy of peace, courage, and service.
