Fullerton, California—A tragic plane crash at a Southern California furniture factory has left two people dead and 18 others injured. The incident occurred shortly after a single-engine Van’s RV-10 aircraft took off from Fullerton Municipal Airport.

The factory, located in Fullerton, Orange County, housed at least 200 workers at the time of the crash, according to reports from Sky News. The accident happened less than two minutes after the aircraft’s departure.

Authorities are still working to determine whether the deceased were on the plane or inside the factory. “It is not yet known if the people who were killed were in the plane or on the ground,” a spokesperson for the Fullerton police stated.

Footage from Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) showed the plane tilting on its side before crashing into the roof of the building. The impact caused an explosion, followed by a thick black plume of smoke that engulfed the area.

Emergency responders reported that 10 of the injured were hospitalized for treatment, while eight others received medical attention at the scene and were subsequently released.

This incident is not the first aviation mishap near the Fullerton Municipal Airport. Last November, a four-seat plane crashed during an emergency landing near the same airport, leaving both occupants with minor injuries.

The crash adds to a series of devastating aviation accidents in recent months. In December, SaharaReporters highlighted the tragic crash of a plane at Muan International Airport in South Korea, where 179 out of 181 passengers perished, leaving only two crew members as survivors.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the Fullerton crash as families and loved ones mourn the tragic loss of life.
