Lectures have formally commenced at the Lessel College of Education for the one year Certificate in Peace Education program.
The inaugural lecture was held at the Peace Center Hall of the College of Education in Lessel on November 21, 2024 with 60 students in attendance.
To promote shared values, Interdependence and mutual prosperity among the students, they were grouped into 12 teams with 5 students per team. Lecture one was background Information on the Certificate in Peace Education Program and General Introduction to Peace Education.
The participating students were very inspired and pledged to be peaceful students, to multiply their peaceful nature and lessons to others and to utilize the attitude, knowledge and skills gained to promote peace always.
Meanwhile, three other centers have approved for the certificate course as study centers that interested students may register to attend lectures through distance learning and an online study group via zoom will begin in December 2024.
The approved study centers are the World Peace Center in Okpoma Yala LGA, Peace Center in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and the Peace Center in Vandeikya LGA of Benue State
