Abuja, Nigeria – Ebere Nzeworji, a senior aide to Senator Rochas Okorocha, former Governor of Imo State and the immediate past Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, has debunked widespread rumours alleging Okorocha’s death. Nzeworji reassured the public in a statement issued Thursday morning, affirming that Okorocha is “hale and hearty.”

The statement, released from Abuja, clarifies that a false viral message began circulating on social media on the evening of Wednesday, November 6, claiming that Okorocha had died in a London hospital. Nzeworji dismissed these rumours as baseless, asserting that Okorocha was, in fact, in Nigeria during this period and was last seen at his Unity House office in Garki, Abuja, around the time the rumours started to spread.

In addition, Nzeworji provided a timeline of Okorocha’s recent activities to further corroborate his well-being. Okorocha had recently returned from Owerri, Imo State, where he attended the funeral of the late elder statesman, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, on Friday, November 1. Following this, he hosted the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, and other distinguished guests at his Spibat residence in Owerri.

The clarification from Nzeworji aims to dispel any remaining doubts regarding Okorocha’s health, emphasizing that he is in good health and continuing with his public and political engagements.
