Foundation Donates Educational Materials to Schools in Yahe, Yala LGA, pay fees for pupils

Pupils of Glo-Gold International Nursery and Primary School, Yahe in Yala LGA are currently in jubilant mood as a non- governmental organization, Mary -Mark Life Transformation Foundation.(MMLTF) has chosen the school as one of the beneficiaries of its annual back-to-school programme, an annual outreach which is part of efforts to advance its corporate social responsibility.

The outreach which held recently was led by the founder of Mary Mark Life Transformation Foundation, Dr. (Mrs) Mary Mark Ogbeche who was accompanied by some of her support staff.

Speaking at the primary school, Dr. Ogbeche said the Foundation understands the difficulties several families are facing with regards to purchasing education materials for their children and paying their fees. She therefore donated educational materials, including books, school bags and other items to aid the education of the children. In addition, she said that the Foundation will pay the fees of some pupils in the school.

The Proprietress of the school, Mrs. Alow-Gold Gloria who was highly emotional expressed gratitude to the Foundation for choosing the school for its back-to-school outreach; showing satisfaction towards the outreach especially as the pupils were just returning back to school and couple with the economic situation of the country. While thanking all those who came out to support the outreach, Dr Ogbeche said it was always the desire of the NGO to reach out and empower different sectors of the society.

The team later moved to the community playground where it also donated clothing materials, wrappers etc to indigent women, widows and physically challenged. This was part of activities to mark this year’s International Day of Charity.

Dr Ogbeche, said the organisation is strategic in selecting the the community.

“Coming to this community is Yahe is very important and strategic because of the nature of the environment, Dr Ogbeche said. We have a lot of people who need help that is why we came here”.
