Ogoja, Cross River State – Emmanuel Odey Aleje and 13 other councillors-elect of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have received their certificates of return following their victories in the recent local council elections in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State. The presentation ceremony was held by the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC), with Mr. Joseph Ipuole Adoga, the CROSIEC Commissioner overseeing Yala, Bekwarra, and Ogoja Local Government Areas, presiding over the event.
The elections, conducted on November 2, 2024, saw APC Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship candidates, along with the 14 councillors-elect, returned as winners. The event marked a significant moment for the APC in Cross River State, consolidating their representation across local government councils.
During the certificate presentation, Mr. Adoga congratulated the elected councillors on their success at the polls, extending his best wishes for their tenure. He emphasized the importance of their roles in ensuring good governance and working to meet the expectations of their constituents. “You have a unique opportunity to serve and make a positive impact. We hope you will uphold the responsibilities entrusted to you with integrity and dedication,” Adoga stated.
The newly-elected officials are expected to commence their duties shortly after their Inauguration, expected to hold on the 7th of November 3024.
