Members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnic (SSANIP) at the College of Health Technology, Calabar, have announced plans to embark on an indefinite strike action. This decision follows what the union describes as a blatant disregard for the statutes and requirements governing the appointment of the Registrar, as clearly outlined by the Regulatory Body of Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges in Nigeria.
The SSANIP members have expressed their concerns over the alleged violation of the established procedures for this crucial appointment, insisting that due process must be respected to maintain the institution’s integrity. The association has called on Government to address the situation promptly to prevent disruption to academic and administrative activities.
