Big news for the Labour Party in Nigeria

Senator Esther Nenadi Usman has just been appointed as the Chairperson of the party’s Caretaker Committee. This move aims to address the ongoing leadership crisis within the party before the national Congress. The appointment took place during an extended stakeholders’ meeting in Umuahia, Abia State, hosted by Governor Alex Otti.

The meeting was attended by several prominent Labour Party figures, including Peter Obi, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, and his running mate, Datti Ahmed. Senator Usman, a former Minister of Finance, will lead a 29-member committee tasked with organizing a convention to elect new leaders from the ward to the national level within the next 90 days.

This is a significant step towards resolving the party’s internal challenges, and we can’t wait to see the positive changes that will come from this.
