Abuja, 24th August 2024 – The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, paid a courtesy visit to the Guzape residence of Hajia Hadiza Musa in Abuja on the 24th of August 2024. This visit followed the Speaker’s l in the International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS) Awards, where he received the award for the Most Security Conscious Governor of the Year on behalf of the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
Accompanying Speaker Ayambem were notable figures including Mr Francis Ekpo, Director General, Rural Electrification Agency, Mr. Wonor Austin Ibu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Surveillance; Mr. Ekeng-Ekeng Henshaw, Special Adviser on Forensic/Intelligence; Commander Patrick Odiong (rtd), the State Security Adviser for the Southern Senatorial District; and Chief Superintendent Iyamba Opinion Daniel.
The visit was primarily aimed at fostering party solidarity and reinforcing the spirit of camaraderie among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Hajia Hadiza Musa Ujah, who defected to the APC in 2023, has been a key ally in advancing the interests of His Excellency, Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and his wife, Her Excellency Rev. Eyoanwan Bassey Edet Otu.
During the visit, discussions centered on strengthening party cohesion and ensuring mutual support within the APC. Hajia Hadiza, who has been closely working with the First Lady, Rev. Eyoanwan Bassey Edet Otu, was commended for her unflinching dedication to the party and her significant contributions to the success of the Otu administration.
The Speaker and his delegation expressed their appreciation for Hajia Hadiza’s commitment to the party’s ideals and her efforts in fostering unity within the ranks of the APC. The visit concluded on a high note, with all parties reaffirming their resolve to continue working together for the betterment of Cross River State.
