Abuja, August 24, 2024 – Commander Patrick Odiong, the State Security Adviser for Southern Cross River, was honored with the Distinguished Security Personality Award at the 2023/24 International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS) Awards, held at the ICC of NICON Luxury Hotel in Abuja.
The event, which took place on August 24, 2024, celebrated leaders in the security sector who have made significant contributions to safeguarding the nation. Commander Odiong was recognized for his strategic leadership and dedication to enhancing security in Southern Cross River, a role he has undertaken with distinction.

Other security professionals were also recognized at the event. Wonor Austin Ibu, Special Adviser on Security Surveillance, received the Outstanding Security Personality Award for his innovative approaches to surveillance and his role in bolstering security operations. Iyamba Opinion Daniel was also honored with the Distinguished Security Personality Award 2023/24, acknowledging his impactful contributions to addressing complex security challenges.
