Cross River Special Adviser to Governor Bassey Otu on Security Operations, Mr Wonor Austin Ibu, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Her Excellency, Rev. (Mrs) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, for spearheading free medical outreach for the needy and downtrodden in Cross River North Senatorial District through her Humanity Without Borders Empowerment Initiative.
Mrs Otu, unveiled the four days medical outreach on Monday in Ogoja aimed at providing intensive medical services at no cost to the people in rural areas. These includes surgeries (both major and minor), dental care, Eye care, laboratory investigations and general consultations.
Wonor while commending the Governor’s wife for her goodwill especially at this time challenged other public office holders to emulate Her Excellency to support the less privileged, urging them to contribute their resources to foster community development for humanity sake.
He praised Mrs Otu for conceiving the vision to offer such an exercise to the good people of Cross River North and in recognition of her efforts to improve the living conditions of the people through the initiative.
“The importance of every Cross Riverian living in good health as part of the people first agenda to enjoy the seasons of sweetness with quality and affordable healthcare services for the people is one important fulcrum of this government”, he said.
The Special Adviser encouraged all community residents to take advantage of the free Medical Outreach scheduled for four days at Ogoja, Yala, Bekwara, Obudu and Obanliku LGA’s.
