Ahmad Aliyu Jalam, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Bauchi State, has died. He died in a terrible accident on Saturday.
Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, confirmed the sad incident in a statement issued on Sunday.
In the early hours of Sunday, Mohammed expressed his condolences to Jalam’s immediate family and the whole state. According to him, the Commissioner died in an accident on the congested Misau-Darazo Motorway.
He described the deceased as a dedicated public servant who was deeply committed to the growth and well-being of his local communities.
The governor stated: “Throughout his life, he championed various projects aimed at promoting good government and community relations. “The late Ahmed Jalam was recognised for his hard effort, integrity, and compassion for the people he served, and his contributions will be remembered and treasured by all.
His death is keenly mourned by all, including the numerous people whose lives he impacted during his existence.”
Mohammed, on behalf of his family, the government, and the good people of the state, expressed his heartfelt sympathies to the late commissioner’s family and the whole state. He also prayed to Allah to pardon his shortcomings and offer him eternal rest.
According to the governor, Jalam, who left behind wives and many children, would be buried at his homeland of Dambam Local Government Area on Sunday in accordance with Islamic rituals. Ahmad Aliyu Jalam, state commissioner, died in a vehicle accident.
