During their meeting on Tuesday, the labour union rejected the federal government’s N60,000 minimum wage proposal. This is the fourth offer made within two weeks of the resumption of negotiations.
Last Monday, the Organised Labour modified its stance from ₦497,000 to ₦494,000. A member of the Tripartite Committee for the Negotiation of a New Minimum Wage for Nigerian Workers announced this at the meeting.
The government proposed ₦48,000 and ₦54,000 last week, which were also rejected by Organised Labour. It then proposed N57,000, which labour leaders refused away.
The Organised Labour proposed a new minimum wage of ₦615,000, but later reduced it to ₦497,000 last week and ₦494,000 on Tuesday.
