Presidency steps in as Rivers’ political situation worsens

The Presidency has announced that Tinubu will not take sides in the latest political crisis in Rivers state.

Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokeswoman, revealed this during an interview with TVC News. He said: “I believe that anyone who expects that Mr. President will take sides in this situation based on their activities, whether at the state or federal level, or even in the legislature branch of the state or executive branch, is misguided and will be disappointed.

The President will never choose sides; instead, he will ensure that everyone has the resources they require to work. He would also ensure that no attempt is made to obstruct the Rivers state government from carrying out its duties in the best interests of the people.

“I think there is a need for all stakeholders to understand that the President will not take sides and they need to be focused on governance and delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Rivers state and that should be their only consideration to the lead up to 2027 when we can start talking about politics” .

Remember that President Bola Tinubu’s intervention in October 2023 led to the dissolution of the peace deal between Fubara and Wike.
