Hajia Hadiza Musa Ujah Plays Key Role in 2024 National Council for Women Society Biannual Conference

Abuja, Nigeria: Hajia Hadiza Musa Ujah, a prominent advocate for women’s rights and empowerment and founder and Chairperson of Hadiza Musa Ujah Offoboche Foundation, took center stage at the 2024 National Council for Women Society (NCWS) biannual conference, held in Abuja. The conference, which brought together women leaders and activists from across the 36 states of Nigeria and Abuja, highlighted the pivotal role of the NCWS in advancing the rights and interests of women nationwide.

The NCWS, established in 1958, serves as a unifying platform for various women’s movements, organizations, and individuals across Nigeria. Its primary objective is to champion the rights, welfare, and development of women in all spheres of life. The biannual conference provides an opportunity for stakeholders to strategize, collaborate, and address pressing issues affecting women in the country.

Earlier this month, Hajia Hadiza had organised the inaugural ceremony of the Hadiza Musa Ujah Offoboche Foundation in Okpoma Yala, Cross River State as part of her effort to support widows, physically challenged, and the most less privileged in her homeland, which is greatly in line with some of the objectives of the NCWS.

During her address, Hajia Hadiza Musa Ujah underscored the need for concerted efforts to address gender-based violence, promote women’s political participation, and enhance economic empowerment initiatives. She called upon government agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector to collaborate closely in advancing the rights and well-being of women in Nigeria.
