Air Peace clarified the circumstances surrounding the incident involving its aircraft from Port Harcourt to Lagos on Thursday night, stating that it was caused by a wrongly triggered fire alarm prior to landing.
The airline’s Corporate Communications Lead, Stanley Olisa, stated in a statement that the captain discovered a fire warning indicator in the cockpit a few minutes prior to landing.
The fire indicator went out, and the captain had followed all safety measures, according to Olisa, who denied allegations that the aircraft made an emergency landing in Lagos.

At 5:37 p.m., the Captain promptly notified our Operations Control Centre in Lagos. As there was no fire incident, it was discovered upon arrival that the alarm had been mistakenly set off.
