Ahead of the State House of Assembly reruns for Obanliku and Yala 2 State Constituencies of Obanliku and Yala Local Government Areas respectively, a stalwart of the ruling All Progressives Congress, who is the Chairman and founder of Musa Ujah Foundation Of Hope For The Less Privileged, Hajia Hadiza Musa Ujah arrived Yala today, 1st of February 2024, in company of her special adviser on community relations, Mrs Elizabeth Ofana.
This call, among others, became necessary given her nomination by the State Working Committee of the party, among other leaders of the All Progressives Congress to be part of the electioneering management of the APC.
Recall that in November 2023, two of the Cross River State House of Assembly seats were declared vacant by the verdicts of an appellate court.
In Yala, Hon. Martin Achadu’s victory was challenged by the former occupant of the Yala 2 seat, Hon. Cynthia Nkasi, who got a judgment that had 13 polling units results nullified.
However, Achadu of the People’s Democratic Party still has 336 votes advantage ahead of the APC contender who is expected to utilize some of her advantages that were reportedly circumvented during the Governorship and State House polls March 2023.
